Our client is in the business of wine storage and related services, operating from a 22,000 square foot facility located in Hoboken, NJ. Their service area extends to a 100-mile radius from the headquarters, covering regions such as New Jersey, all five boroughs of New York, Long Island, eastern Pennsylvania, the lower Hudson Valley, and coastal Connecticut.
Position
We are looking for a detail-oriented Wine Storage Manager to supervise daily operations, maintain climate controls, and manage the premier wine storage facility efficiently. The manager will be responsible for overseeing the collection, ensuring systematic tracking, safe handling, and maintaining optimal storage conditions. The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of wine varieties, experience with inventory software, and expertise in environmental monitoring systems.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 2–4 years in wine warehousing, cellar management, fine wine retail, or upscale hospitality.
- Wine Knowledge: Understanding of global wine regions, vintages, aging, and bottle formats. Certifications like WSET Level 2/3 or Certified Sommelier are a bonus.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in inventory software, Excel, barcode scanners, and environmental monitoring systems.
- Detail-Oriented: Precise in documentation, tracking, and identifying discrepancies.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in tight cellar spaces for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy boxes and wine cases up to fifty pounds daily.
- Comfortable working in cooler, dimly lit environments designed for wine preservation.
Position is in Hoboken, NJ
Salary is $75K
