Maintenance Manager

We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to join our expanding manufacturing company in South Windsor, CT. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities related to facilities and equipment, managing a team of maintenance personnel, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and training to maintenance technicians and support staff.
  • Plan and supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain production machinery, facility systems, utilities, and supporting equipment.
  • Minimize equipment downtime through thorough root-cause analysis and implementing necessary corrections.
  • Create maintenance schedules that align with production demands.
  • Manage the computerized maintenance management system, work orders, maintenance records, and spare-parts inventory.
  • Establish and monitor key maintenance performance indicators like downtime, response time, preventive maintenance completion, and equipment reliability.
  • Coordinate equipment installations, upgrades, repairs, and capital improvement projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external contractors, equipment suppliers, and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety protocols, environmental standards, and other applicable guidelines.
  • Support initiatives for continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and cost reduction.
  • Develop and oversee budgets for the maintenance department.
  • Collaborate effectively with production, engineering, quality, and operations leadership.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for complex equipment issues as needed.

Qualifications

  • Preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology, facilities management, or a related field.
  • Have at least five years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
  • Demonstrate prior experience in maintenance leadership or supervision.
  • Possess a strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled machinery, industrial controls, HVAC, compressors, boilers, and facility systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with using a CMMS or similar maintenance-management platform.
  • Strong leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and industrial safety practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous-improvement methodologies.
  • Hold a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional or equivalent certification.
  • Experience overseeing capital projects and equipment installations.
