Overview: Join a thriving food manufacturing company in La Grange, IL as a Maintenance Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and managing a new high-speed packaging and processing operation. We are seeking a leader who can effectively manage and lead a team of 10-12 skilled maintenance technicians and electricians. An AAS or BS degree is required.
Your Role:
- Team Leadership: Guide a team of mechanics and electricians in predictive and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal machinery performance.
- Maintenance Management: Design, implement, and supervise daily maintenance processes and documentation, including TPM, SOPs, and safety protocols.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Collaborate with Production to efficiently schedule and execute maintenance activities, minimizing downtime.
- Performance Tracking: Develop and monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness of the maintenance team and overall operational efficiency.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide immediate and long-term solutions for equipment failures and troubleshooting.
- Employee Training: Educate team members on work methods, safety, and compliance with USDA regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and inventory management.
- Reporting: Keep the maintenance management team informed through regular status updates and reports.
What You Bring:
- Educational Background: A BS/BA degree is required; an Associate's degree or relevant maintenance certifications will also be considered.
- Supervisory Experience: 3-5+ years of maintenance supervision in a food, beverage, or related manufacturing environment.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in mechanical and electrical repair with knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, and support systems.
- Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with maintenance systems, work order processes, predictive/preventive maintenance, TPM, and scheduling software.
- Leadership Skills: Strong conflict resolution, change management, decision-making, and delegation abilities.
- Problem Solving: Ability to lead complex problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts in high-pressure situations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Organizational Skills: Effective at planning, setting priorities, and managing time.
- Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
