Job Summary of the Facility Maintenance Specialist: The Facility Maintenance Specialist will handle mechanical and electrical challenges. We are seeking a Facility Maintenance Specialist to become part of our team in Harlan, Iowa. In this hands-on role, your responsibilities will include maintaining and repairing industrial equipment and facility systems to ensure smooth and safe operations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Facility Maintenance Specialist:

· Facility Maintenance Specialists possess a strong mechanical and electrical background, capable of handling tasks independently or as part of a team to perform a variety of technically challenging duties related to installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial manufacturing and facility equipment (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, etc.).

· This involves repairing all production machinery and equipment (from basic mechanical to electrical repairs and electronic control system repairs) as well as maintaining facility infrastructures, power distribution, plumbing, lighting, compressed air distribution systems, etc. Additionally, this position includes providing preventative and corrective maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components in production machines and equipment like metal fabricating machine tools and material handling systems. The role also encompasses installing and repairing electrical apparatus and electrical and electronic control system components of industrial/facility equipment and machinery.

· Specialists maintain an efficient and safe work environment, demonstrating attention to detail, proactive behavior, adaptability, and a strong work ethic. Moreover, they are responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly building and surrounding grounds.

Education & Experience Requirements of the Facility Maintenance Specialist:

o Solid mechanical and electrical background, with experience in HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, and control systems.

o Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery, such as CNC machines, PLCs, and VFDs.

o Proficiency in using hand and power tools, diagnostic instruments, and fabrication equipment.

o Familiarity with safety standards like LOTO, OSHA, and NFPA.

o High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in industrial maintenance or related field is a bonus.

o A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and training.

o Willingness to travel between sites and work flexible hours, including overtime and occasional weekends.
