Job Description – Infectious Disease Medical Director / Physician Infectious Disease / Family Practice / Internal Medicine Physician
Our Healthcare Center is in search of a Medical Director (Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Infectious Disease Physician) for our outpatient facility in St. Augustine, FL. Join a dedicated team focused on serving the local community.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Physicians are expected to deliver high-quality care, meet productivity targets, and collaborate with the care team to support patient well-being.
- Manage a minimum of 14 patients per 8-hour shift (or 7 patients in a half-day session).
- Oversee patient scheduling to meet productivity goals.
- Complete documentation on the same day as the visit.
- Provide primary care for chronic and acute conditions.
- Collaborate with staff to manage urgent care patients.
- Review reports and lab results promptly.
- Process prescription renewals in a timely manner.
- Monitor and respond to communications daily.
- Support patient retention efforts.
- Supervise mid-level providers.
- Provide after-hours on-call coverage.
- Protected administrative time provided per week.
Qualifications
- MD or DO with active medical license.
- Valid DEA registration and Furnishing License.
- Outpatient primary care experience.
- Able to manage 14–18 patients daily.
- Active CPR/BLS certification.
Education & Skills
- Doctorate (M.D. or D.O.); board certification preferred.
- Strong ability to interpret and apply clinical information.
- Effective communication skills.
- Organizational skills for timely documentation.
- Proficiency in analytical thinking.
