Electrical Systems Engineer

Location: Atlanta, GA


Responsible for providing support for facility electrical and automation controls in Atlanta, GA. Oversees a team of 6 technicians. We are open to considering individuals who are passionate about developing others, even if they do not have prior management experience.


  • Optimize and maintain the electrical and controls systems of the facility and manufacturing equipment, including manufacturing systems automation, man-machine interfaces, and industrial communications networks, utilizing tools such as RsNetworks, RsLogix 5, RsLogix 500, RsLogix 5000, RsLinks, Panel Builder 32, and Wonderware software, as well as future revisions or additional platforms.
  • Provide daily support for troubleshooting and optimizing electrical and automation systems, including materials handling systems (package and liquid), packaging equipment, processing equipment, printing and coding equipment, and more.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of power distribution systems to identify and resolve site problems, as well as improve energy efficiency.
  • Maintain an electronic library of all software used in facility and manufacturing systems, ensuring it is regularly updated.
  • Create and modify electrical and controls schematics and one line diagrams using AutoCAD.
  • Develop and mentor the site's Controls Technicians.
  • Troubleshoot and work with advanced controls devices such as Servo, Servo amplifier, and Servo controllers.
  • Design and implement customized Safety Solutions to comply with current regulations and codes.
  • Build strong relationships with the Corporate Engineering team to enhance current systems architecture and optimize manufacturing efficiencies and output to meet present and future needs.
  • Ensure electrical systems are designed and maintained in accordance with applicable local, state, and national codes and standards, including NFPA 70, NFPA70E, and OSHA 1910.
  • Be willing to adapt work schedule as required.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety and foster a safety culture among staff.
  • Perform other assigned duties.


Supervise a team of PLC Technicians.

Education and/or Experience

Requires a Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from an accredited college or university in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, or software engineering. An Associate's degree in the same field with relevant experience will also be considered. Previous experience with industrial power, electrical, and controls systems is required.
